Mick and Pete Sweeney returning home to coach

20 May 2020 by Chris George

Cranbourne Cricket Club is proud to announce the return of favourite sons Michael and Peter Sweeney.

The Sweeney boys began their cricketing journey at Cranbourne CC and went on to spend 18 years at Premier club Dandenong Panthers.

Pete played 90 First XI games at Dandenong, including winning a premiership, while Mick played 60 first-grade games, captaining the twos for the past four seasons.

The boys are set to be a driving force in a huge shift in the club, both on field and off, and fulfil our renewed effort in getting Cranbourne people back to the nest.

Mick will be head coach of the club, with Pete and First XI seamer Marty Kelly his assistants. This landmark recruitment adds to our previous specialist coaching announcements.

Please give Mick and Pete a huge Cranbourne welcome home.
